Universal Events Team
Universal Events, Inc.
On April 15, every Universal Events office closed its doors for the day. Not for a holiday, and not for a training — but to answer a simple question: what would happen if every member of our team spent a single workday feeding their neighbors?
By sundown, the answer was clear. More than 10,000 meals had been packed, plated, or distributed by Universal Events staff working alongside food banks, church kitchens, and shelters in 15 cities. Our biggest Day of Service to date, and one we plan to make an annual fixture.
“The best day of the year is the day we close the office to work somewhere else. It reminds us why we do the rest of it.”
What the Day Looked Like
In Dallas, teams packed 1,800 weekend meal kits for kids who rely on school-based food programs. In Phoenix, staff worked the line at a community kitchen that serves 400 hot meals a night. In Chicago, volunteers sorted and distributed pantry goods to families visiting a neighborhood food bank. Every market chose a partner organization based on local need.
Food insecurity is a quiet crisis. Roughly one in eight American households faces it, and the need spikes during school breaks when free lunch programs pause. Our teams live in the same communities where that gap is felt — and closing it, even for one day, is a way to honor that.
Making It an Annual Commitment
Starting in 2026, Universal Events is making the Day of Service a paid company-wide tradition. Every full-time team member receives eight hours of paid volunteer time each year, directed at a local hunger-relief organization of their choice. No metrics, no minimums — just showing up for our neighbors.
