Fostering a highly effective team has helped us grow Universal Events into the success it is today. Our people are our greatest strengths. Therefore, our leaders spend a lot of time on finding and developing the best and brightest professionals. Any manager can invest in lasting success by prioritizing team building. Here are a few strategies that are effective in developing top-notch teams:

Focus on Attitude: The traditional hiring model suggests that prior experience is the most important criterion for selecting team members. However, mind-set and talent often play bigger roles. People can be taught new skills more easily than new attitudes.

Remember Culture: A major part of the Universal Events team-building strategy is our company culture. We have a set of shared values that guide and inform our personnel decisions. By both following and cultivating this culture, we further strengthen our team.

Think Comprehensively: Each candidate should not be considered in a vacuum. While it may be ideal to evaluate someone on his or her own merits alone, it is often more practical to think how he or she will complement the rest of the team.

Network: When looking for new team members, use networking. Top candidates aren’t always actively looking for jobs. However, connecting either in-person or online may lead to a great opportunity for both parties.

These strategies will lead to a strong team. To find out more about our culture, follow us on Facebook
