Free Options for Enhancing Professional Skills

We’re constantly learning. We pursue knowledge through a range of methods. Online options for professional development are many. We have found the following free sites to be quite useful when Team Universal Events wants to take on some new knowledge.

Khan Academy partners with heavy hitters such as NASA and MIT to offer videos and practice exercises. It also features a learning dashboard that allows users to develop at their own paces. We have found courses in everything from coding to sales marketing through Khan Academy.

We’re also big fans of edX around the Universal Events office. Founded as a joint venture of Harvard University and MIT in 2012, edX provides online courses from a range of top institutions around the world. There are courses in people management, Mandarin Chinese, and just about everything between.

ALISON has found its way to the top of the Universal Events list of online resources as well. This is a global learning community with free online courses that help users develop certified job skills. Workplace safety, competitive sales tactics, and design thinking are just a few of the subjects covered by ALISON and its partners.
