We at Universal Events, Inc. believe in the power of morning rituals. How we spend those crucial first minutes of the day can influence every minute afterwards. Here are some morning rituals we find helpful for starting our day in the proper frame of mind.

  • Make a Plan: Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish that day. The physical act of writing down your goals makes them more clear and focused, thus increasing your chances of completing them.
  • Hydrate: After sleeping, your body is dehydrated. A large glass of water upon waking helps lubricate stiff joints and burn calories, making you feel energized without the need for caffeine.
  • Force Yourself to Move: Many people enjoy (or learn to enjoy) exercise first thing in the morning. Even a relaxed walk a few stretches will do the trick. Activity first thing in the morning will enhance your mood and productivity.
  • Seek Inspiration: Read or watch something uplifting when you wake up, giving your mind something positive to focus on throughout the day. Consider meditating as well.
  • Wake up With a Smile: Make a habit of smiling as soon as you open your eyes. The physical act of smiling tells your brain to release the chemicals that accompany happy feelings. It’s an immediate mood elevator in the first minute of your day.

When you start your day with stress and negativity, it sets you on a path to feel overwhelmed and exhausted. Make a habit of these morning rituals to have a more productive and satisfying day.
