Tech Skills Universal Events’ Hiring Managers Look For
Tech skills are in high demand here at Universal Events, just as they are almost everywhere else. Unfortunately, there are so many talents that fall under this umbrella that it may be hard to know which ones to emphasize, let alone learn. Knowing that this was an issue, LinkedIn looked over hundreds of millions of profiles in order to see which skills were considered to be most desirable in today’s job market, and here’s what they found:
Content Management
This one is vital to us here at Universal Events, because we strive to keep our website fresh and interesting. The ability to make this happen by using digital content – videos, photos, even written text or links – is content management.
Graphic Design
It helps to have an artist’s eye for this, but it can be learned with a little training and practice. Software like Photoshop is so user-friendly that most anyone could master it, while those seeking design skills will need to learn about user experience, color theory, typography, and more.
HTML
Several of us at Universal Events have always wondered what this stood for, and here’s the answer: HyperText Mark-up Language. In layman’s terms, this is the language used to give websites structure and content.
Maybe you have these skills already, or you’re looking to add some meat to your qualifications. Either way, they are sure to catch an interviewer’s eye.
