We at Universal Events know that most everyone is aware of famous philanthropists like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey. However, there are lots of other change agents with whom you might not be familiar. We’d like to introduce a few of the individuals we find most inspiring here.

Chuck Feeney, for example, the founder of Duty Free Shopping, developed Atlantic Philanthropies to support health and social charities across the globe. One of its gifts was $350 million for Cornell University’s tech campus in New York.

You may not know the name Eli Broad, but we at Universal Events are sure that you have heard of KB Homes. His Broad Foundations has amassed more than $2 billion to support efforts in the arts, sciences, and education.

Paul Allen is the co-founder of Microsoft and he has devoted part of his $18 billion fortune to charitable ventures from arts and conservation to preventing the spread of Ebola. He has also funded the development of a building at his alma mater, Washington State University, and agreed to Warren Buffet’s Giving Pledge.

The world is full of philanthropists who are not so well known. We at Universal Events know the value of learning their stories and using them as role models. It’s not always critical to be center stage to make an enormous impact on the world.
